What is peer support?
Listen to this section:
As a person with IDD, you have knowledge and experiences about your life. If you meet another person who also has IDD, you might have similar experiences as them, and be able to help or support them through what you have learned. They also might understand and help you. This is peer support.
You are also a researcher, and you have experience doing research. If you meet another person who has IDD and also wants to do research, you can help support them by sharing what you have learned on your research team. This Toolkit is to help you use peer support as a researcher.
