In April 2026, the DOJ extended the Title II Digital Accessibility compliance deadlines by one year. The accessibility requirements did not change. Public entities must still make their websites, mobile apps, PDFs, forms, and online services meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA.
- The deadline for agencies serving over 50,000 people is April 24, 2027
- Smaller agencies must comply by April 24, 2028
This rule isn’t optional. Non-compliance can lead to:
- Lawsuits
- Federal funding delays
- Service disruptions
But more importantly:
Real people in your community won’t be able to access the services they need.
